NURSE CALL INTERFACE CARD FOR PHILLIPS TVS

Linkvue was engaged by a healthcare organisation to engineer a proprietary interface card for a new model of Phillips TVs which could be controlled by an existing nurse call system.

Technical Innovation

This project required technical expertise in IP protocols, electronics and software development with custom programs and PCBs to integrate the existing nurse call system with the newly purchased Phillips televisions through rs232 commands using an RJ45 Data port.

  • RS232 Communication
  • Proprietary software with C programming
  • Proprietary Interface card with PCB design and manufacture
  • Integration into existing nursecall system

Implementation Results

The successful implementation enabled our client to replace their existing patient entertainment system with modernised Phillips televisions that utilised RS232 communication without requiring the replacement or modification of the nurse call system. This resulted in a new patient entertainment system with minimised cost for the healthcare organisation.
